Dream Landscapes

In her ink drawings, Christina Gaude depicts fragile, floating forms. Her artistic interest lies where patterns and individual images meet. The artist uses ink and paintbrushes to design circles and ellipses that are reminiscent of cells under the microscope. The individual elements are layered alongside each other and on top of each other, creating a sense of transparency, three-dimensionality and tonality of color. Again and again you see transparent entities connecting with branched structures, growing with them, withering and dying. She is currently working on collages composed of fragments of her own drawings (ink and watercolor) and gold leaf, creating dreamscapes where the subconscious can emerge.
